Happy Birthday Pete
Seeger !!
I was there with so many other people at Madison Square Garden in New
York, on Sunday, May 3rd to celebrate Pete's 90th birthday, along with
supporting the work of his
Clearwater dream.
Pete has always been an inspiration and a guiding force. The photos
above are ones I took at gatherings of the
People's Music Network over
the years. That banjo photo in the middle is one of my favorites.
Here's a treat for you. My digital still camera also does audio. Here
are two MP3 files. One is the finale of the show, including 20,000
people singing happy birthday to Pete. The other is of Bruce
Springsteen, his words about Pete, and his appropriate song, "The Ghost
of Tom Joad."
