- THE ASSAULT ON WORKER RIGHTS CONTINUES -
- AMERICANS PUSH BACK -

Scott Walker and his Republican allies, along with the billionaire Koch Brothers, passed legislation in Wisconsin stripping collective bargaining rights for public workers. Other Republican controlled states with the same union busting agenda are acting similarly.

Across America people are standing up to stop the destruction of this country's middle class and labor unions, and are standing up to corporations and their selected political servants. On March 15th, MoveOn.org sponsored a rally at Union Square in Manhattan to Defend the American Dream of good jobs and good pay.
Speakers included union representatives, city council members, worker and women's rights activists, and city teachers.

Songs of Freedom Television was there to record and participate in the event.   You can watch it here.

Standing With Wisconsin
and workers in America opposing class warfare

Saturday, February 26, 2011
was an incredible day in America. Rallies across the country drew tens of thousands of people to declare worker rights are a solution and that millionaires commandeering democracy is the problem. Reports indicate that the rally in Madison, Wisconsin drew more between 70 thousand and 100,000 alone.
Democratic senators are still holding on out of the state and the demonstrations continue in the capital.

What is going on here?  What is happening, is that decent hardworking Americans are saying "Enough is enough!", and are challenging those who would deny them their long worked for and sacrificed for way of life. I attended the rally in New York City on the 26th, where I began the event, leading hundreds of people singing "Which Side Are You On?" and "Solidarity Forever", including verses written for our brave brothers and sisters in Wisconsin and across the nation. I also took the photos below.

It was not only a day of rallies and demonstrations. It was a day galvanizing a movement to "Save the American Dream" and beat back well funded attempts to disappear the middle class. The fight has just begun. It is time to decide and act boldly.  Which side are you on?

Thank you to MoveOn.org and the other organizations
for bringing us together in America.

In solidarity,
joel landy
